The Department of Child & Family Services (DCFS) is a government agency whose primary goal is to protect children from abuse, neglect, or dependency, as wells as to serve their family members who may experience violence in the home.

THE SITUATION:

The customer needed the shelving to store various cleaning supplies and backroom storage. The customer was particularly interested in a product that was movable because she didn't want it to be there permanently. She also needed a specific size to fit her available space as it was a small room.

THE SOLUTION:

ABOUT THE PRODUCT:

Boltless Shelving is a simple shelving unit with multiple shelves that are accessible from all 4 sides. Each shelf is made of 4 pieces of metal put together to form a square. The corners of the squares have 1-4 small, bolt-looking, pegs that stick out from the square about ¼ inch. Tall, upright metal corner pieces with multiple holes that look like tear drops, go on each of the 4 corners. The pegs on the squares go through the tear drops on the corner pieces to hold the shelves up and keep the whole unit together. The tear drops are about 1½ inches apart for various shelf heights. Commonly used, particle boards are placed on the metal squares as a platform to store products on. Metal and wire shelves are also available. Boltless Shelving units can be used to store boxes of multiple sizes, hoses, generators, bins, tools, cleaning supplies and more. Sloped shelves used to display products are also offered.

Boltless Shelving comes in many sizes and can be custom made to fit your available space. Many sizes including 2½ feet, 3 feet, 4 feet, 5 feet, 6 feet, 8 feet, 9 feet, 10 feet and 12 feet. The shelves are available in multiple widths, such as: 4 feet, 5 feet, 6 feet, 7 feet and 8 feet. They are also available in a 12 inch, 18 inch, 24 inch, 30 inch, 36 inch, and 48 inch depth. The units’ shelf levels are customizable. You can have 2 levels, 3 levels, 4 levels, 5 levels, and more. Boltless Shelving is available in regular duty as well as heavy duty. The particle board decking is available in two thicknesses; ½ inch thick for regular duty, and ¾ inches thick for heavy duty. Individual shelf capacities vary from 450 lbs. to 4,000 lbs. depending on the units’ width, depth and the platform used. NationWide Shelving can help you decide what sizes and capacities are needed for the products to be stored. Boltless Shelving units generally come in a gray powder coat finish, but other colors are available upon request.

Boltless Shelving has many additional (optional) components. Footplates, used to anchor the unit to the ground, are available. If you want to connect 2 or more Boltless Shelving units, a tie plate can be purchased to connect the units side by side. Wall ties can be bought to secure a unit to the wall. Durable label holders may also be purchased to keep your inventory organized. The labels can be printed on most laser and ink-jet printers.
